Market participants  is:

Electricity producer – produces electricity. Any economic entity that received a license for the production of electricity.

Energy supplier – sells electricity under the electricity supply contract to the consumer. Any business entity that received a license to supply electricity to a consumer.

Trader – purchases electricity exclusively for the purpose of its resale, except for the sale under the electricity supply contract to the consumer. Any business entity that has received a license for the resale of electrical energy (trading activity).

Transmission System Operator (TSO) – responsible for operation, dispatching, maintenance, development of the transmission system and interstate power transmission lines. OSP functions are performed by NEC “Ukrenergo” according to the electricity transmission license.

Distribution System Operator (DSO) – responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation, maintenance and development of the distribution system. The functions of the OSR are performed by the respective regional energy companies in accordance with the license for the distribution of electric energy.

Market operator – ensures functioning market “a day ahead” and the intraday market and the organization of the purchase and sale of electricity on these markets. The newly created enterprise of SE “ Market operator”.

Guaranteed buyer – buys electricity from producers who have installed "green" tariff. The newly created enterprise of the SE "Guaranteed buyer".

Consumer – buys electricity for own consumption.
